Quantum Construction worked on the multi million pound extension to their European distribution centre, delivering the project ahead of schedule whilst meeting the detailed environmental challenges imposed by the client.

Adam Osbourne, Facilities Manager for the Lands’ End Company says, “Quantum Construction has provided our company with a successful and efficient service on the extension of our facility. Quantum were contracted to provide a new extension to the existing Oxford Products facility in Witney and internal alterations and additions to their existing facility.

The construction of the extension was carried out to a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standard.

The construction involved initial ground stabilisation followed by steel frame with built up cladding to match the existing building. The new extension melds seamlessly into the existing building to provide a significant increase in storage space.

Works in the existing building were phased to enable the occupants to continue trading throughout the period.

A new mezzanine structure was constructed within the existing warehouse to provide office space, warehouse welfare and additional storage.

All toilet facilities were stripped back and remodelled. Existing offices were redecorated and given additional thermal insulation.

Wholesale reconfiguration of existing conference and showroom facilities was also undertaken within the contract
