“Quantum recently carried out a complex re-roofing and upgrading project of a 60,000 sq.ft. warehouse at Parkhouse Interchange, Newcastle-Under-Lyme for London based Newcombe Estates. This involved the complete replacement of the 1980’s asbestos roof and re-fitting of the offices. The three month project was carried out during one of the worst winters in recent history but was completed successfully.”

The development comprises a steel portal framed building, complete with composite cladding external car parking and concrete delivery yard.
The ground floor footprint is circa 2,460m² with associated ground and first floor offices.
The development involved the construction over the existing floor slab where the previous building had been demolished through fire damage, which in turn maximised reusable materials/elements of the structure and minimised construction costs for the client.
To maximise the footprint of the building and hard landscaped areas, the scheme involved the diversion of a live culvert in conjunction with porous parking design, linked through a substantial attenuation drainage scheme controlling the water flow back into the diverted culvert.
