“Lands’ End is a well known clothing retailer which operates from their 240,000 square foot, state of the art distribution centre in Rutland. The company has been in the industry since 1963 and has grown from their origins in Wisconsin, USA to supply most of Europe through their online network.
Quantum Construction worked on the multi million pound extension to their European distribution centre, delivering the project ahead of schedule whilst meeting the detailed environmental challenges imposed by the client.
Adam Osbourne, Facilities Manager for the Lands’ End Company says, “Quantum Construction has provided our company with a successful and efficient service on the extension of our facility. They are always ready and willing to help with any enquiry and we are extremely pleased with the service our company has received.”
Projects - Auchentullich Farmhouse
The project required construction of replica farmhouse and courtyard, finished in local materials, to replace earlier structures demolished to make way for a new golf course. Only the highest level of quality was acceptable to the De Vere Group, due to the project being a key part of their flagship development. Client expectations were achieved and acknowledged by all parties.
Construction of the buildings comprised of timber framed structural members with local stone external cladding. The stonework was completed with dressed stone mullions and cills to window and doorways. Reclaimed Scottish slate tiling was fixed to traditional sarking boarding to the roofs.
The high specification for the internal finishings included sound and vision systems, throughout each building, linked into the site wide media infrastructure system.
Included within the contract was installation of furniture and fittings, presenting the buildings ready for immediate occupancy.
